The members of the Algonac Church of Christ believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, written by men as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). We embrace the Bible as the authoritative standard by which we live our lives and define true Christianity, and we are devoted to encouraging and helping one another to hold to its teachings in every area of life.
We believe that there is one God, the God of the Bible, and that he exists in the form of the holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14), that he died on the cross to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and God raised him from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
We believe that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ and that, in order to be saved, one must believe, repent of sin, confess Christ as Lord, and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38 & Romans 10:9).
We believe that true Christians live as disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20 & Acts 11:26), and that true saving faith manifests itself through a life of devotion to holding to his teachings (John 8:31, 1 John 1:6-7, 1 John 2:3-6, Matthew 7:21-23).
We understand that biblical Christians must embrace and strive to complete the mission of going and making disciples and teaching those they convert to obey all that Jesus taught.
